J.A.R.D. v.2.13.11

* – Happy Valentines Day

🙂

* – on a more serious note, a belated Happy Birthday to President Lincoln.

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

* – RIP, Gary Moore.

Who, you might ask? Perhaps this will ring a bell:

* – I’ve always liked this song…

* – somehow I missed this Groupon ad during the Super Bowl:

* – are these the 10 most iconic movie kisses?

* – in the past few weeks I’ve taken advantage of Redbox to watch The Expendables and Red. Good flicks. Oscar material? Hardly. Entertaining and worth dropping a few bucks on if I find them at a good price somewhere? Absolutely!

* – speaking of The Expendablesthere will be a sequel!

* – so, now that he’s done destroying California, it looks like The Governator is going back to Hollywood.

* – ladies and gentlemen, Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady (apparently due out sometime later this year).

* – Atlas Shrugged – the movie:

* – I thought Michael Moore hated capitalism? Why, then, would he sue for more money from Farenheit 911?

Maybe because he’s a big fat hypocrite? Just sayin’…

* – I’m sure Harry Baals was a great mayor, but maybe naming a building after him isn’t such a great idea…

* – nice to see the TSA is cleaning up its act.

NOT!

* – hey, I know, Chicago, let’s spend taxpayer dollars to send teachers on boondoggles to Vegas. ROCK ON!

(facepalm)

* – I’m still waiting for Chris Christie to disappoint me.

* – um, I think somebody needs to explain to South Carolina state senator Robert Ford (D) that just because you’re black doesn’t mean you can get away with dumbass racist statements.

* – of course you’ve never raised taxes on us Mr. President.

* – so, according to the CBO, Obamacare could wind up costing us 800,000 jobs? Well, then, let’s do it! What are we waiting for?

(eyeroll)

* – apparently the only good conservative is a dead conservative. Otherwise, why would some once-reviled deceased conservatives suddenly be experiencing a posthumous love-fest from the media?

Why else would they want to compare Obama favorably to Reagan?

(I personally like this version much better…)

🙂

* – yes, folks, there are Republicans out there that I am ashamed of. Take this idiot, for example…

Oy!

* – this is a local candidate I’ll have to keep an eye on.

* – I love Andrew Klavan:

* – CPAC highlights:

Herman Cain

Allen West

(you can forward through the first 8 1/2 minutes or so of this clip…)

Wait a minute, both of these guys are black. How did they get into a conservative conference? I thought conservatives were racist old white guys?

Huh…

* – just when you thought it couldn’t be possible for Keith Olbermann to work for a network with less viewers than MSNBC

Responses

  1. That’s not the Groupon ad we saw during the superbowl. The one that caught my eye was this tasteless one with Timothy Hutton: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeYtnw4zyg4

    Perhaps I had tuned out my mind after that one, because I don’t remember the Brazilian one.

  2. I remember the Cuba Gooding one and the Timothy Hutton one, ‘Seester, and I thought both were in pretty bad taste. My understanding is that Groupon has since apologized for them and pulled them off the air. From what I’ve been reading since first stumbling across the Elizabeth Hurley one, it apparently aired after the game was over.
