J.A.R.D. v.2.6.11

* – well, well, well, so this is my 300th post. Whodathunkit?

* – yes, this is approximately how dearly I hold my coffee:

* – Borders may go bankrupt? But I love Borders! There’s one right here in my town! This’ll suck if it actually happens!

* – I shoulda been a pro athlete… 😉

* – I must be losing my touch, because these are (according to the ten most desirable women on the planet and I don’t recognize most of them.

* – I don’t think any beer is good enough to do this to a hot bikini chick:

* – for shame, ladies, for shame!:

* – meet your new Superman.

* – Larry Hagman will return to Dallas.

* – one of the New Kids On the Block is gay (and always has been)? You’re kidding?!

(not that there’s anything wrong with that…)

* – not that I’m exactly svelte anymore, but I’m glad I don’t live in Mississippi:

* – so, according to Al Gore, all this snow the country’s been seeing is the result of global warming.

But, wait a minute, I thought the party line since at least 2002 was global warming was the cause of all the lack of snow:

Is it just me, or does that seem just a tad inconsistent?

* – there’s potentially 4.3 billion barrels of oil under North Dakota and Montana?!

Snopes puts that claim into a bit more perspective, but that’s still oil we should be harvesting instead of importing it from somewhere else.

* – “6 Myths About Oil” by Alex Epstein of the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights.

* – still want to tell me some people don’t deserve the death penalty?

* – I thought we were supposed to stop the violent rhetoric? Especially words like “target.” Huh…

* – speaking of hateful, violent rhetoric, check this out:

So, at 52 seconds in we get the requisite reference to the “racist Tea Party,” which is then immediately followed (at 1:05) by the crack that we should put Clarence Thomas “back in the fields.”

Nice, huh?

Then, at 1:54, Roger Ailes should be “strung up” and we should “kill the bastard.” Going back to Clarence Thomas, at 2:00 we should “cut off his toes one by one and feed them to him.”

Well, this just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it?

At 2:37 we’ve got a woman who wants a duel with Glenn Beck. At 3:05, going back to Thomas again, we’ve got somebody who’s “all about peace” who wants to “torture” him. At 3:11 we should “string him up (and his wife. And Scalia. And Roberts).” At 3:51 we should “hang him.”

But the Republicans are the party of hate. The Right is all about violence. It’s the Conservatives who are stirring up the nutjobs and driving them to shoot people.

Uh-huh. Right. Spare me. Please.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: every time somebody on the Right screws up there’s this massive outcry from the Left for us to denounce that person, and if we don’t then we’re guilty by association and we’re also guilty of the idiocy. So, where are you, Lefties? Where’s the apology? Where’s the official statement that these people don’t represent you?  Where’s the official statement that these views are not what you really stand for? You know if those people were Tea Partiers saying those things about your fellow liberals you’d be freaking out and screaming for an apology.

Well? I’m waiting…

You’ll forgive me if I don’t hold my breath, though.

* – yes, Chris Matthews, the Tea Party is just like the Muslim Brotherhood.

(done in my best Stephen Green imitation)

* – speaking of dumbasses:

Yes, Senator Schumer, the three branches of our government are the House, the Senate, and the Presidency.

* – speaking of Senator, it’s been a while since I’ve posted some Chris Christie porn, hasn’t it?:

* – speaking of conservative porn and man-crushes, I cannot emphasize this enough: Bill Whittle is the MAN!!!

* – well, Rachel, that’s what you get for not doing your own research.

* – a “Rosa Parks moment” for education?

* – hey, I know, how about we pass a law requiring everybody over 21 to purchase a firearm? That’d be constitutional, wouldn’t it?

* – nice work by Judge Vinson to use Obama’s own words against him in regards to the constitutionality of Obamacare.

* – of course, should Obamacare withstand the attempts to repeal it, you won’t be required to adhere to it’s laws if you’re a friend of the White House.

* – here’s hoping the Senate is as smart as the House.

(I should have known better than that…)

* – call me paranoid all you want, but another reason I don’t like Obamacare is the idea of RFID chips.

How Orwellian can you get?!

* – another $32 billion in cuts proposed by the GOP.

* – yeah, I’d be ok with this.

* – I am NOT ok with this!

* – the GOP’s top 16 candidates for 2012.

* – now, after all that Left-bashing, I do need to take the Republican Party to task. What is up with HR 3? It’s not that I have a problem with making sure abortion is not federally funded – I don’t. The pro-choice crowd loves to say, “Don’t like abortion? Don’t have one.” Well, I like to say, “Wanna have an abortion? Pay for it yourself.” However, what the hell is up with redefining rape? Am I missing something? Am I reading this bill wrong? Rape is rape, folks. If somebody is forced to have sex, it is rape. Period. Done. End of story. It doesn’t matter if drugs and/or alcohol and/or violence (like rape in and of itself isn’t violence, anyway) is part of the coercion. RAPE IS RAPE

And, for what it’s worth, I think it should be punishable at least by castration, and preferably by death.

  1. Our severe winter weather seems to be following the cycle it always does down here once about every dozen years, we get socked in by significant ice and snow by deep south standards. This winter has been especially frost-tastic. It was fun for a while, but I am getting a little bit tired of it, now.

  2. *some punctuation in my run-on sentence would probably be a good thing. Pre-superbowl drinking…

  3. Re: the girls’ video, there’s an obvious (and somewhat crass) statement to be made here. I’ll just say that I thought that was the whole point. 😉

    ANYwhoo… Conservatives DO bring out all the nutjobs. On the other side. And to that I say keep it coming. This way at least we know who they are.
